Unit One is on the second floor, but residents may enter directly from the back lawn (the lot slopes upward from the front of the house).

There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the second with either two twin beds or a queen-sized bed. In the living room there's a sofa bed, a television set with satellite access and a VCR, a rocking chair, an oval table with four chairs, and traditional brick fireplace (the wood bin is a cabinet under the bookshelf). The apartment has its own thermostat so you can control the temperature when you have a fire in the fireplace.

The bathroom has both a shower and a tub. The kitchen includes a full-sized refrigerator with a separate freezer, a stove, a microwave, a toaster, a coffeepot, pots, pans, silverware, plates, dishtowels, etc.

The apartment has a Colonial motif, with flowered wallpaper, pictures of Lincoln and Washington, and lots of books. Six persons can sleep here in comfort.
